Hi, I'm Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter. I'm the head coach for And I want to talk with you today about the lies. You tell yourself. One thing I know about most people () there are exceptions, of course. Those are sociopaths out there () . But one thing I know about most people is we try to be remarkably honest in our relationships with friends with family with the world at large.
We try to be honest with coworkers. We try to do our best .We try to communicate accurately and ably . . . And then there's the part where we talk to ourselves and those voices within our head often tells us lies . . . Lies that we took on from other people.
I was talking with someone today who was telling himself thelie I that he couldn't make any money and that he was financially unable . . . And what had add happened was, as we talked about it, his dad had that struggle and his dad had expressed it, time and again, that if only she and her brother did something differently, you know, he wouldn't have to agonize and be frustrated and all that kind of stuff.. Out of care for her dad, she takes on the lie that maybe she shouldn't make any money.
What lies have you take a look on? What messages do you give to yourself that are pure fiction, that are the come out of an episode early in life where, out of care for someone or a misinterpretation of a message. You’re hurting yourself.
Think about it.
You're hurting yourself by taking on these messages that are just pure fiction.
Yeah, you can work on this yourself just by starting off and say, "that's interesting. That one of those voices," or some other Interruption that causes you to question The Voice .Or you can work with a coach (maybe, of course or someone else) that will help you dissect and help you work in different directions.
If you're interested in my coaching you one-on-one, email me at in the subject line, put the phrase. “I'm hearing voices” and I'll know it it's about. I'll get back to you we’ll schedule an initial conversation the first 15 minutes of conversation are a free discovery call. We’ll schedule additional time for the actual coaching. I'd love to help.
