The Current Job Market

The beginning of LinkedIn User Staff Reductions (LUSRs) began with Meta’s layoffs in December 2022. They have not stopped.
What jobs have been created have fallen into a few buckets–government, government adjacent (healthcare, social services), leisure and hospitality, construction, and periodic increases in retail. The layoffs have been continuous and never-ending.
All someone had to do was read the BLS report and not the headline and pay attention to their LinkedIn feed to see how disastrous the job market has been for people.
The very people who vote Democrat will vote against their financial interests to perpetuate policies that have been hurting them. I say that, not for political reasons but as a statement of fact (with a small amount of opinion woven in).
My writing on the subject of the job market has been consistent and reflected the obvious– college-educated professionals are getting killed by current government policy.
