The Easiest Way to Negotiate a Higher Salary for Yourself
Recession-proofing your career also involves recreating your network of relationships. If you’re like me, you’ve let a lot of them slip and that can be damaging.
The easiest way is to start off with people who are in your phone where you can text, those that you can email, and then those that you don’t have any contact for, and then start finding them on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, or wherever.
And the message can start off by saying, ‘it feels like 100 years since we were last in contact. Your name popped into my mind. I thought we would reconnect and get caught up.’ And then from there, you can continue by saying, ‘Do you have any time in the next week or two where we might just grab coffee, get together for a few minutes for a drink, take a phone call zoom or what have you?’
