What do you believe?

What do you believe that at your core is right?

You’ll be placed in situations where you will be told that you are wrong, that what you believe is incorrect and that you need to go along with everyone else.

There are times where it is appropriate to listen and to learn because you don’t have complete information.

Many times you will be placed in those situations and you know enough to say “no.”

There public stories of people who went along at Enron, at Boeing, in government in the United States and elsewhere.

There are people who knew the truth and didn’t speak up.

Your husband, wife or partner may encourage you to be quiet. “You are putting your job at risk,” they will warn you.

But you know what the right thing to do is. Your parents didn’t raise you to be a coward.

In one moment, you have the opportunity to save lives, change lives and prevent injustice.

I remember facing a dilemma like that years ago and without hesitation agreed to testify in support of someone. It was a hard thing to do that immediately agreed to do it.

It reminds me that I have courage that can be summoned up on I need it.

You will have your moment, too.
