Post Informational Interview | No BS Job Search Advice

People like to help AND they are deserving of a note or an email saying how you appreciated the fact that they took the time to meet you, you found it valuable, particularly the part about . . . and thanking them for their time. A sincere message helps build a meaningful professional relationship. Don’t stop at that thank you email. Keep following up. Keeping them up to date on your career every six months or year helps them to stay invested in you FOREVER!
This is what professionals do–they build relationships for life where each helps one another. You may rise to a level where they want to hire you or, vice versa–you want to hire them. In the future when they are in their 60’s or older and you are leading organizations and in your 40’s, your willingness to help them land a role in your organization may go a long way to helping complete their career well and support you and your firm accomplish its goals.
