No one should need to tell you what the right thing is to do. You learn that at a young age.
How do you deal with the situations where you’re asked to do the wrong thing? How do you confront the situations, knowing that there will be a consequence?
There are business leaders around the world who, when faced with those choices, didn’t heed the teachings and their parents or ancestors about what the right thing is to do.
Lest we think that they are the only ones who make bad choices, we are all put into untenable situations and faced with our own moral dilemma. Small concessions become bigger over the course of time. Accommodations and rationalizations start to become more frequent.
Practicing saying, “I don’t think I can do that,” and walking away may have a consequence in the short term AND a better moral consequence over the course of your life and beyond.
You please your parents, whether they are living are not as well as everyone from your lineage going back countless generations.
I know this may sound, “woo woo,” but so what? You be doing the right thing. Such spiritual clarity feels great.
