My wife and I went back to a restaurant we’ve gone too often. It’s a small “hole the wall” kind of place in our town. It’s comfortable. The same waiter serves us. The menu rarely changes. The food has flavor to it.

Yet, I long for something that has a little bit more oompf to it, too. Food that challenges us. Food that has aggressive flavoring to it. A big space.

I like comfortable. I like “more oonpf.” I suspect you do, too.

And sometimes the office defers to habit and comfortable when it really needs more oompf.

And sometimes, managers and leaders let comfortable remain went really needs more oompf.
