Here's a scenario-- a person's about to get an offer. It's not their first choice; their first choice is taking longer than they expected. So he's about to get an offer. She's about to get an offer. And they're going to get an offer letter that they're going to need to sign. And they want to know, is it okay if I take another position after signing this?

I'm Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter. My channel on YouTube is JobSearchTV.com. And the simple answer is, if you ask that employer that's going to give you the offer letter, they're going to tell you, "No, you made a commitment to us." And if you ask anyone who has any knowledge of job search, there's nothing in that offer letter that you'd be signing. And please reread it. Read the letter, because every once in a while, lawyers throwing surprises, but there's never anything that precludes you from accepting another offer.

Remember, this is a position that's not permanent; it's full time. And thus, they word things in ways that benefit them, because they want you to join and they want to be able to fire you when economic circumstances say they should be able to fire you.

Same thing happens with you. You sign this letter. And if you take this other offer, you can do that. There's a consequence with this firm, because there will be people who remember you, and they're going to not want to hire you. But there's no prohibition.

You're a human being-- free. You can make your own decisions. Yay! So yes, you can take the other offer.

Hope you find this helpful. I'm Jeff Altman again, JobSearchTV.com on or readYouTube. Go there. There's lots of information available.
