Being Lucky | Career Angles

By Jeff Altman, The Big Game Hunter

People think that people who are successful are just lucky and don’t see what’s behind the curtain.

There’s an old joke about the man who prays to G-d that he wins the lottery. Month after month he prays and suddenly there’s a bolt of lightning, thunder from the heavens and this booming voice that could only be G-d goes, “meet me halfway. Buy a lottery ticket!”

And they do but to bring the real talent out requires effort, work, drive, perseverance, mistakes, help, a whole host of different things that people are reluctant to put in the time for. They just want to be tapped on the shoulder and told “This is your time.” It doesn’t work that way. People will discover how good you are if you put in the work. Maybe.

Maybe. There are no guarantees but. I can guarantee you one thing. If you don’t put in the work, no one will discover you in you have to put yourself out there to be seen in order to be discovered. So, It is putting in the work, putting yourself out there and maybe, just maybe, you have a shot
