Being Listened To | Career Angles

Why are some people listen to and others aren’t?

Is it purely because their ideas are best?

Is it because they have a personal relationship with the decision-maker and, thus, you can point to politics?

Mmmmmmmmmmm. Getting close but not quite there.

Yes, the best ideas sometimes win.

Often, it’s the person with the best reputation for the best ideas who wins, not their ideas.

Establishing credibility over time is important part of personal corporate political effectiveness.

People remember.

They remember the success that you had previously and want to jump on board with it.

Even if you’re wrong this time.

Remember, developing credibility takes place over time.

What can you do today that can cause you to be listened to tomorrow?
