Here's the scenario I've been asked to speak to. It's taking more than two weeks
to schedule a second interview does it mean I'm out the recruiter says he is
reviewing more resumes well we don't know if you're round you could have made
the cut to the next round but clearly you haven't excited the recruiter or the
hiring manager sufficiently to move fast why do I include the hiring manager in
this? Because she or he has probably seen your resume read the notes and gone, "you
got anyone else for me and that's the way it works sometimes I'm Jeff Altman
The Big Game Hunter. I'm a career coach who worked in search for more than 40
years. I filled more than 1,200 full time positions plus consulting assignments. I've
listened to the excuses that firms gave throughout my entire career
and if you believe that, you're kidding yourself. They're just not excited yet.
They're shopping. They want to get the best value, the best individual
for the role in their estimation and they're not completely sold on you based
upon what the recruiter has determined so I would simply say you go out there
and keep on looking. Do not hold out hope for this one. If they if and when they
circle back to you great but don't really sit there waiting by the phone
like a date who's waiting for it to ring call me please call me it may not happen
that's the reality to it it may not happen so get out there keep networking
