Partial Information | Career Angles

A political meme that only offered part of the story reminds me of how frequently we are asked to make decisions or listen to people but only given partial information.

For example, a coworker comes to you, indignant over some perceived slight or mistreatment. They are looking for a co-conspirator in the misery, and ally in their woundedness.

A simple investigation, as happened with his meme, would tell you so much more than what they did.

Like in politics, the truth doesn’t always matter to these people.

Like in politics they are looking for votes.

Even if they are right, often, it was no intention to slight. Someone may have made a mistake.

Everyone makes mistakes. You. Me. Everyone.

There is no need for outrage.

What is needed is wisdom.
