The Person You Are | Career Angles

“You are not the work you do; you are the person you are.”

                                                                                                      ~Toni Morrison

I know I sometimes forget that I am not my production, my numbers, my output, my bank account or any other measurement that society would like to impose upon me.

I reflect my character in everything I do or say.

“Pray for a tough instructor                                                                                                                                                                                            to hear and act and stay within you.

We have been busy accumulating solace.                                                                                                                                                             Make us afraid of how we were.”    (Rumi, “The Core of Masculinity”)

Male or female, young or old, we can seek someone who can support us by pushing us and demanding our best from us, rather than administering hollow comfort that keeps us in our place.

What is one small thing you can do today to change your life or your circumstances.

Right it down. Make the time.
