It’s going to be funny for me to bring this subject up given that my podcasts both start off with the term, “No BS.”
But I am not “commando honest.” By that I mean, “I don’t give a sh*t whether I hurt your feelings. I am fiercely blunt and revel in it.”
What I use the term, “No BS,” I am not blunt. I am remarkably honest and direct. I don’t say things in a way that are hurtful. I try to explain things in a way that helpful.
No one likes “commando honesty.” You may think it’s necessary but usually dropping a sledgehammer on someone’s head is completely unnecessary. It just satisfies some sadistic quality that you have in your dealings with this person and accomplishes next to nothing (and sometimes nothing).
Remember, what we usually refer to as honesty is one opinion that differs from another ESPECIALLY in the workplace.
