The Things That Change Your Life | Career Angles

As I listened to Dr. Condoleeza Rice speak about luck played a role in her life (she walked into a presentation given by Brent Scowcroft, former National Security Advisor to Presidents Ford and George H.W. Bush, asking a question that, in retrospect, she shouldn’t have asked, and, from there meeting Scowcroft and being invited to participate in a foreign policy group, luck plays a part in much of our lives.

Luck. Karma. However, you want to think of it, we never know the circumstances that may arise from a chance meeting or conversation.

Pay attention and notice the impact of what you do and say. We never know whether that person we are talking with can make all the difference in the world to us . . . Like when my wife to be walked into a class that she should not have been taking (I’ll skip that part of the story) and we met.

Chance encounter?

Change my life.

We never know who will meet in the hallway who may change our lives.
